Decide on a Career to Research

Even if you are not sure what you want to do, you will need to choose a single career path to research for your Career Goals Paper. The more specific it is, the better (usually). This paper can be a chance to learn more about the field you are currently working in or towards, or an opportunity to look into a dream career path - it's totally up to you.

Some questions to help you choose a career to research:

  • What is your major? What are you studying? What career paths are associated with that major?
  • Where are you currently working? Do you want to advance within that field, or change career paths?
  • Do you have a side hustle that you are looking to expand into a small business?
  • Is there a career you've always want to know more about? What's your dream job, whether or not it's something you are going to actually pursue?
